International wrestling super-star of Wrestling’s golden era Randy “Macho Man” Savage is dead at the age of 58 From Car Crash.
For those who grew up watching what was then the WWF (world Wrestling Federation) and now known as the WWE world Wrestling Entertainment) then you surely remember the icon Randy Savage, better known as Macho Man, he died this morning (May 20th) after what may have been a car accident caused after having a heart attack while driving. His wife was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash but only suffered Minor injuries.
Macho man died in Largo Medical Center from the injuries caused by the accident. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash and both Randy and his wife Lynn were wearing seat-belts at the time of the crash.
Randall Mario Poffo (real name) entertained us along with greats like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Ted DiBiase, Andre The Giant and many other hall of famers in the Wrestling world in what many considered to be the best era of wrestling in a career that spaned over 20 years.
Known for his famous feuds with Hulk Hogan, he even ended up making a rap album in where his TV persona Macho man would take lyrics jabs at his opponents. Two of my favorite tracks on it (not that i bought it or anything haha) were “remember me” (where he talks about his career and how much he has done for the wrestling sport) and “Be a Man” a track directed at the Hulkster.
Here is the Track “Remember Me” on YouTube.
Macho man was also known for his wildly colorful and flagrant wrestling costumes, everything from zebra stripes to cowboy hats were a common site in his usual ring wear. His raspy voice was one of the best weapons as he pumped up the crowd pre-and post interviews with his trademark “OOHH YEAH”, eventually made even more famous for the slim-jim commercials he starred in for a few years. Macho Man, you will be missed, and not soon forgotten.
